Local Transport in the 1920s!

Our picture shows Joseph Byrne leading a horse and float loaned to him by his employer, Con Culhane of Ballydowd.

Fairyhouse Transport

It was on Easter Monday, the only free day except for Christmas Day, on which workmen had a day off.

The horse and float were used to transport Lucan people to the Fairyhouse Races – it must have been a long day for all including the poor horse!
