Congratulations to Ronan Sharkey (Beech Grove), who has been announced as the Salomon Grom for the month of January, being the overall winner of the Salomon Grom Camp held in the Ski Club of Ireland at Kiltiernan in November '09. The event focussed on free-skiing which in effect is rollerblading on skis, and involves plenty of tricks, jumps etc.
Ronan, a 13 year-old student at Kings Hospital, will now feature in Fall Line Magazine, the biggest selling skiing magazine in Europe.
His sport is Alpine Ski Racing specialising in Slalom. He is also a member of the Race Squad in SCI and has represented his club in the UK. He is now focussing on representing Ireland in the future.
Well done Ronan! We'll be watching out for the name in future Winter Olympics…….
